HOT-The beginning of K-POP

H.O.T.  was a popular five-member South Korean boy band in the mid to late 1990s. They were formed by SM Entertainment in 1996 and disbanded in 2001. Often credited as the forerunners of the "idol group" trend in the Korean music industry[, H.O.T. successfully turned mainstream Korean music into music for the younger generation. Made up of five teenagers at the time of their debut, they were formed to specifically target teenagers, hence their name "High-five Of Teenagers".

SM Entertainment created many K-POP stars (Dong Bang Shin Ki , super junior and Girls' Generation), but H.O.T is the first "idol group" in K-POP. They changed the traditional view of band, every tream member has own style which attract more fans.

They made the foundation of K-POP idol group, such as the position setting, dance style and interaction with fans. Their dance, dress style and hair style influenced huge number of teenagers about 12 years ago. At that time, K-POP is belong to H.O.T.
